Lisa Wittig is a German lyric soprano. From the 2022/23 to the 2024/25 season, she was a permanent ensemble member at the Aalto Theatre in Essen. There, she made important role debuts, including Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Micaëla (Carmen), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Marie (Karneval in Rom), Ashley Devon in Missy Mazzoli’s "The Listeners", a Flower Maiden (Parsifal), and Annina (Eine Nacht in Venedig). In the latter role, she also appeared as a guest at the Staatstheater Meiningen.

She also appeared as a guest, among others, as Pamina at Bühnen Bern, the Landestheater Detmold, and most recently at the Teatro Comunale di Sassari in Sardinia. In 2024, she made her debut in Italy, where she appeared as Ortlinde in Wagner’s "Die Walküre" at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna under the baton of Oksana Lyniv. She subsequently sang this role at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as well. In June, she made her acclaimed debut as Mimì in Puccini’s "La Bohème" at Zomeropera Alden Biesen in Belgium.

Lisa Wittig is a prizewinner of the Berlin International Music Competition (Golden Medal) and the Zenith Opera Competition (Encouragement Award), as well as a scholarship recipient of the Detmold Summer Academy and the Richard Wagner Association Wiesbaden.

She studied with Prof. Christiane Libor at the Karlsruhe University of Music and is currently coached by Caroline Merz. She received important musical impulses from, among others, Dorothea Röschmann, Julia Varady, Sibylla Rubens, Christoph Prégardien, Helmut Deutsch, and Hartmut Höll. She has already performed recitals together with Hartmut Höll.

Throughout her career to date, she has worked with conductors including Oksana Lyniv, Chris Moulds, Tomáš Netopil, Andrea Sanguineti, Martijn Dendievel, Daniel Geiss, and Guido Mancusi.

Alongside her work on the opera stage, Lisa Wittig devotes herself intensively to the song and concert repertoire. For several years, she has been developing thematically conceived concert programmes and has appeared with chamber music works, including at the Liedfestspiele Engadin.

She feels at home in the lyric repertoire and impresses with her naturalness and stage presence.

In January 2027, she will perform Richard Strauss’s "Four Last Songs" under the direction of Daniel Geiss together with the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra in Sofia.
