Lisa Wittig is a young German lyric soprano. Since 2022/23 she has been a member of the opera Ensemble of the Aalto Theater Essen. In 2022 she graduated from Karlsruhe University of Music with a masters degree as a student of Prof. Christiane Libor and Stephan Klemm. She now is working closely with Caroline Merz.
As a member of the Ensemble she recently gave her debuts as Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Pamina (Zauberflöte), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Annina (Eine Nacht in Venedig) and Micaela (Carmen). In this very season 24/25 further role debuts are following, such as Blumenmädchen (Parsifal), Marie (Karneval in Rom) and Ashley Devon (The Listeners). Furthermore she gets the opportunity to give her debut in Italy where she will sing under Oksana Lyniv at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna as one of the Valkyries in Wagners opera "Die Walküre".
It was already at age 4, when she started her musical education with piano lessons, which resulted in a “diplôme moyen” from the Conservatoire du Luxembourg. By accompanying other young singers she discovered her own voice at the age of 12. Ever since she has had a deep affection and connection to Lied singing in all its facets and colors which inspires her create and perform thematically matched and diverse Lied programs. In the field of chamber-music and concert activity she performed at the “Liedfestspiele Engadin” and at the “Philharmonie Luxembourg”.
Lisa Wittig received vital musical inspiration from Dorothea Röschmann, Sybilla Rubens, Christoph Prégardien, Júlia Várady and Hartmut Höll. This has already led to several joint recitals with the latter.
She took part in various national competitions, being awarded a “Gold Medal” at the Berlin International Music Competition. Also she is a scholarship holder of the “Detmolder Sommerakademie” and the “Richard-Wagner-Verband Wiesbaden”.
